The project of Andrea Magnaghi Architecture on this important historic building in the center of Rome was multifaceted. The project involved the recovery of the Roman palace, the insertion of contemporary elements and the creation of an internal courtyard around which the house unwinds.<\/p>\n

The noble floor of the building has been restored with great attention to materials. Recycled materials and lime milk paint were used to avoid synthetic pigments. The parquet is laid on sand without the use of concrete and the ceilings have been restored to their former glory. Compared to this respectful setting, the modern design steel kitchen has a sculptural value, and in general the design of the spaces has a strongly modern character. The Studio has created a series of fluid functional spaces, obtained thanks to glass ceilings and screens that hide and let you perceive the continuity of different volumes. The materials used are traditional – iron, wood and glass – but have been used in a modern way.<\/p>\n

The internal cloister, a deteriorated space without function, has been transformed into a real urban garden. Thanks to an intervention of architecture and gardening, the space has become the central courtyard around which the house develops, as in ancient Roman houses.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
